Leave a Lasting Gift in Your Will

Why leave a legacy to Kirima?

As we get older and start to think about our legacies, as well as taking care of our loved ones, many look to help those who are less well-off.

Educating children in deprived rural Uganda is probably the single biggest impact you could make to change their lives and help transform a community.

Each year of education for each child will deeply impact them for the rest of their lives. Although they don't know you, they will never forget you.

Many of us have limited funds in our lifetime, but can take action now which will make a real long-term difference.

100% of your legacy is sent to the schools in Uganda. It is not spent on UK staff, admin or marketing.

How can I leave a moderate bequest?

If you already have a will, you can just add the wording below. If you don't have a will, you should get advice from a lawyer about writing one.

I give the sum of xxxx pounds free of inheritance tax to Kirima Ltd (UK registered charity 1128290) of 23 Langbourne Avenue, London N6 6AJ absolutely for its general charitable purposes and the receipt of the proper officer for the time being of Kirima Ltd. shall be a complete discharge to my executors.

It would help us to know in advance that you are considering Kirima in your will so please send us a brief email to let us know your plans and whether you would like us to contact you to set up an informal chat, with no commitment:

How can I leave a substantial bequest?

If you are considering a more substantial bequest, you should get advice from a lawyer first.

A few things to consider if you live in the UK:

  • Any gift you make to UK Charities is free of inheritance tax
  • If you give at least 10% of your taxable estate to charity, the inheritance tax rate for the rest of your estate drops from 40% to 36%
  • You are free to leave money to whoever you want—including any charities—as long as you also make reasonable provision for any financial dependents

We would be pleased to discuss your possible bequest with you, to help us understand how you wish your gift to be used and so we can let you know what impact your generosity could make. Click the link below to set up an informal chat, with no commitment:
